"A Street Car Named Desire". A Street Car Named Desire was a play/movie that had focused on a couple that had a "complicated relationship". The movie debuted in 1951, and showed how one of the main characters Stanley, was controlling and wanted to be authoritative when it came to his relationship. This relates to Lolita because Humbert is the same way with Lolita. They both do not respect their women and see them as objects.
"Bell Book and Candle". Love story from 1958, the women hates her neighbors fiancee', eventually falls in love with him.
"Elevator to the Gallows". A women recruits her lover to murder her husband at work, and make it appear as an suicide. A piece of evidence is left at the scene and this leads to a series of crazy events. Mystery movie in 1958.
